Two bays splashing through water

Updated: Jun 16, 2021

I've got the basic image of two bays splashing through water onto aluminium sheet 1m x 1m. Now is the time to put detail into the heads before moving on to body and legs.

The client wanted a turquoise harmony which I'm achieving in the water and background.

Next stage.

More detail on heads and bodies and more water splash to give depth.

At the client request I've made the horses more brown rather than chestnut and reduced the size of the ears. They still need to be softened, but it's gradually getting there. this is the huge advantage of working in oils, it can be changed as you go along.

Adjusted ears and put more water in. Forelegs to complete and a few touch ups to do.

The painting now framed.
